Saunders LHT does not have enough adjustment

Saunders Lumbar HomeTrac Deluxe - Same Day Shipping Spinal decompression has been very effective in straightening my lower back and relieving pain from a herniated disc. I have been given treatments by a professional physical therapist with great results. He suggested that I purchase a portable unit for home use. I chose the Saunders LHT. The therapist demonstrated the proper use of the device. I took it home and used it two times a week. After nine weeks (18 treatments), the bands that hold the belts in place had stretched far enough that the stroke of the piston was not long enough to put force on my back. The bands were at their tightest length. It is designed to go up to 200# and I was using 100# force. If you have a very short body tunk, and do not require very much streching force, this device may accomodate you.

I have been a physical therapist for 14 years. I frequently use lumbar traction in the clinic setting with excellent results for patients with lumbar radiculopathy, DDD, DJD, and with some patients with spinal stenosis (flexion bias applied). The Saunders lumbar home trac is easy to apply to yourself, works very smoothly, and offers an excellent option of patients with recurrent degenerative conditions. My only suggestion would be to design an adjustment for the belts to accomodate a variety of trunk lengths, with a caudal/cranial adjustment of belt placement.
