The entire time I was growing up, my family had never made chiropractic care part of our normal medical routine. That changed, however, when my dad started having trouble with his back seizing up. I chose to join as well when he sought the care of a doctor of chiropractic and received such great results. Participating in cheerleading and gymnastics when I was in high school at that time, the strain caused pain in my neck and back. Orange County Chiropractic

For nearly ten years later, I am still under the care of a chiropractic doctor. When I graduated from college and moved a few hours away from my hometown, I knew that I would need to look for someone immediately and continue my chiropractic care on a monthly basis. Dr. Candice McCowin, DC at Great Life Chiropractic in Costa Mesa was highly recommended by a couple of co-workers when I asked around at my new job to see if anyone knew of a great chiropractor.

Soon, chiropractic care was something that my entire family sought. My mom suffered great discomfort due to sciatica. It was difficult for her to stand very long without feeling pain in the backs of her legs. Since she worked full-time in my parents’ retail store, where standing to assist customers and ring up sales each day was a big part of the job description, this made life difficult for her.

Mom had taken several days off to visit me in Orange County, and she mentioned that she had not been feeling well. Dr. McCowin was able to squeeze her into her busy schedule and we learned that sciatica is a symptom which often shows up as leg pain. Making it impossible for the victim to sit or stand, it might be nothing more than a strong cramp in the leg or it can be an absolutely excruciating, shooting pain. That is the way Mom had been feeling, barely able to find a comfortable position whether she was sitting or standing.

As Dr.McCowin took Mom’s medical history, she explained that the pain is sometimes more intense when sitting, sneezing or coughing. Sciatica, she said, can occur suddenly or develop slowly. Patients sometimes report feeling weakness, numbness, or the sensation of burning or tingling in the leg or toes.

To each bit of information as the doctor spoke, Mom nodded her head “yes”. She had been feeling all of these symptoms and was excited to put her care in Dr.McCowin’s hands, even if it meant driving a couple of hours, from my hometown to Costa Mesa, in order to continue treatment.

Since chiropractic care has become a huge part of my entire family’s healthcare now,my whole family makes it a priority to receive regular adjustments. Chiropractic Treatment In Costa Mesa California
