Balancing on the line between infertility and fertility can be very difficult. Not knowing whether you are standing on the side of infertility or fertility can be mind numbing. Trying to start a family is one of the strongest and most necessary desires a person can feel. When you suspect that nature might be working against you there is a often a difficulty in relating to your partner after a number of failed conception efforts.

The biggest issue facing a couple having trouble conceiving is that either party might have some issues with fertility. Many cultures and religions automatically blame the woman for infertility. Some religious laws mandate that if a woman does not conceive a child within the first ten years of marriage the husband must take a new wife.

Unfortunately, some health insurance companies are now mandating documentation that you have been trying to conceive, which can mean you have to wait longer. Being prepared for such delays helps you avoid them.

Most women who are tracking their ambient temperature set an alarm to wake in the wee hours of the morning and take their temperature and then return to sleep. It’s important to keep it quiet and get the temperature before you are fully awake, so taking the temperature in the dark is quite helpful.

The body has a natural rhythm that makes it tick. When you throw that natural rhythm out of whack it makes it much more difficult for the body to produce the appropriate hormones and create the environment that needs to exist in order to conceive. Start by relaxing and checking your emotional status. Check in with your diet and your natural supplementation in order to be sure that you are giving your body the best chance possible. Both you and your partner should be doing whatever you can naturally to increase your odds.

Most fertility experts will not diagnose a fertility problem until after 12 to 24 months of trying to conceive through natural process. Many couples find that the period of time between starting the process and finding that there is a problem is a very long wait. Everything from taking care to eat foods that help boost conception (fatty acids can help increase fertility) and restricting caffeine intake can help prepare the body for getting pregnant.

Male fertility has to be taken into account. Some experts believe that reducing ejaculation before conception efforts can help increase sperm relativity. If your partner is a frequent ejaculator, sexual intercourse (partnered or alone) should be restricted to those times when your fertility is increased. Increasing blood flow by wearing clothing that does not restrict the natural flow of blood can be helpful in increasing the flow of sperm. These are not helpful in situations where the sperm count is very low or the sperm is not able to swim, but it can help in borderline cases.

When you reach the 12 month mark and you haven’t had any success in conception, you might want to consider going to a treatment for infertility expert for a consultation. Sometimes the problems that couples face with fertility and fertility treatment issues can turn out to be small issues. Just because you have to see a fertility expert doesn’t mean that you are automatically looking at alternative ways of conceiving. It just means that you need a little guidance.
